The Trilogy Lands at Cumberland
In August 2005, Trilogy secured 764 acres of land from Comox Timber Ltd. within the boundaries of the Village of Cumberland. Comprised of 11 lots in total , the Trilogy lands will become one of the most significant developments on the North Central Coast region of Vancouver Island, and will include the largest regional commercial hub north of Nanaimo. The proposed development has been listed in the B.C. Government’s Major Projects Inventory since 2006, and is expected to be completed over a 10-15 year time period.

Trilogy’s lots are located on either side of the Inland Island Highway, which is the major transportation link between Nanaimo and Campbell River. Built as a divided four-lane expressway from Parksville (north of Nanaimo) through to Campbell River, the “Inland Island” portion of Highway 19 was completed in 2001. It continues past Campbell River to Port Hardy as Highway 19, where it becomes a two-lane configuration.
Encompassing approximately 10% of the Village’s total land mass, the Trilogy lands are one of the largest developable land holdings located within a Comox Valley municipality. Two of the lots are currently being used for gravel extraction, while the others have been logged at various times in the past and are covered with assorted stages of 2nd and 3rd growth forest. None of the lands are currently developed and as such, none are currently serviced.
