Trilogy: Vision, Value and Integrity
Trilogy Properties Corporation is a vertically-integrated real estate company, active in the development, leasing and management of investment-grade properties. Formative in the expansion of Whistler Village throughout the early ‘90’s, Trilogy has been working in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland for the past decade, where it is most well-known for its development of the Opus Hotel in Yaletown.
Trilogy’s proposed development at Cumberland represents its first venture on Vancouver Island. John Evans and Tom Johnston were first attracted by the changing demographics and increased accessibility that are fuelling the north central Island’s rapid growth. When the Comox Timber Resource Group decided to sell 764 acres within the Village of Cumberland, Trilogy was one of the first companies they contacted, based on its track record of development vision and innovation, financial accountability, and personal integrity.
Adding value from the planning stages on
Trilogy believes that with any development project, there is a way to “add value” that sets the development apart from its competition. In Cumberland, the pedestrian-oriented mixed use “Destination Lifestyle Centre” at the heart of the project adds value to the community by attracting more people to visit the Village and more businesses to locate there. Its cosmopolitan vision and its innovative integration of land uses will garner much publicity for the Village, which will inspire more people to discover Cumberland for themselves.
In the comprehensive planning process it has undertaken, Trilogy believes that it is adding value to the community by incorporating the Best Practises in land planning, infrastructure and environmental stewardship. Its Master Plan allows citizens and business owners to see what part of their Village might look like in the future, and it shows that a significant amount of the green space that the citizens like about Cumberland will still be there tomorrow.
Conversations heard along Dunsmuir Avenue indicate that a few of the new business owners have chosen to locate there because of Trilogy’s proposed development. While it is a long way from “breaking ground”, Trilogy is already adding value to the community by helping improve the Village’s economic outlook today.
